Fedrigoni Branding

Below you can see the branding/logo for the paper company Fedrigoni. I initially started designing my Fedrigoni stationery without trying to incorporate the colours and fonts used by the paper company as I wanted to design something brand new. After experimenting with a few colours, fonts and designs I decided that creating my designs with their existing designs, colours, logo and fonts would suit the brief more appropriately and would make my designs look more professional.

Mash Creative

This bold wall planner with its minimal colour palette and striking typography has a great contemporary design and has immediate impact. The simplicity of this design lends itself more to just checking days off, not making notes day to day. This type of wall planner has more of an aesthetic value, like a semi functional poster and not so much a serious planner. If I was to make this kind of planner I would have to seriously consider stock and finish as this would be more of a focus.

Character Creative

This wall planner by Character Creative has more of a 'notes' section for each day and more of a decorative feel to it with gradients of grey and it seems to have a confusing layout to it. I think it feels to busy and there is too much going on...and this is before any personal information would be added. I think the use of typography and hierarchy is interesting and this is something I should will consider in my wall planner and calendar.

RIPE Calendar design

I love this calendar from RIPE Digital Design. The simplicity of the images and colours lend itself to more playful typography and the simple spiral binding is practical and cost effective. These are things I will need to consider for my calendar design if I need to think about pricing and printing in a commercial aspect...which I do.

Crispin Finn

I had my own wall planner of the design below, that was created by Crispin Finn but seem to have lost it...these images are taken from the Crispin Finn website and can be clicked to take you to their source. I think the limited use of colour is great and creates an impact, while the simple layout is clear and easy to use, with little details that give the year planner a bit of character. I think the format of my calendar will be what gives it a bit of character and the paper stock will add that extra special finish.



The image below is a section of a diary that Crispin Finn created and I think this could be how I expand my brief - to include a calandar, wall planner and a diary (either PDF to print) or physically printed and bound as a whole range of stationery for Fedrigoni.

I would like to create my calendar design using the concept/format of a paint/colour swatch sample. I think this would appeal to designers, printers and people who admire design, while still having a focus on paper and process to create my calendar.

One idea I have had for my calendar brief, was to create a calendar in the form of a folder divider to appeal to people who liked stationery and office equipment.

I then found these tables that are created as file divider nesting tables. I thought they were interesting as they showed that office equipment has appeal and adaptability to be used as designs for other products.

Patricia Zapata

The calendar below is created by Patricia Zapata from alittlehut. She creates designs for a variety of products using paper and I thought this was a great example of what can be done with a simple piece of paper and some imagination! Each page is the same size and has two months worth of dates on them, yet each page has a different papercut design on it, and this is something I could incorporate into my calendar.

This website is amazing! I have bought things from here before and have not been disappointed! I thought it would be a great reference for me when trying to design a calendar that I wanted to create with a focus on stationery and/or office equipment. Below are some calendars they have had in stock that have either sold now or are still for sale. These great vintage calendars have a nice simple feel to them and are all really easily understood. This is something I want my calendar to have.
